ACTIVITY HOLIDAYS IN ITALY – some good ideas for outdoor activities around Marostica
Set at the foot of the Alps, between beautiful green hills and the Brenta river, Marostica is the perfect location for your activity holidays in Italy. If you are looking for a weekend of sport or for an adrenaline adventure, you can count on our suggestions and contacts to create the perfect outdoor holiday for you.
CYCLING, HIKING AND MOUNTAIN-BIKING– Around the town there is the Cherry Trail, the Wine Road and thousands of countryside paths going from flatland up to the hills and the Asiago plateau. In Marostica there is a really wide choice of routes and we have also created a special Cycling Holiday package.
CANOEING, RAFTING, HYDROSPEEDING– The Brenta river is famous in Italy not only for the wonderful Palladian villas, but also for the many water sports you can practice on it, a few kilometers north of Bassano del Grappa. This is the right place both for families looking for their first time water sports holiday and for more experienced sport lovers.
HIKING WITH DONKEYS– An original and slow-pace way to discover our beautiful hills, hiking with donkeys is an activity suitable for all ages and perfect if you are travelling with children.
QUAD EXCURSIONS– You can rent a quad bike to discover the hills around Marostica or the war trenches on Mount Grappa and the Asiago plateau. Here we recommend stopping off at one of the many dairy-farms to taste the famous local cheeses.
GOLF– Close to Marostica there are different golf courses and you can try a different one every day. It is up to you which golf club to start from: Bassano del Grappa, Asolo, Vicenza, Castelfranco Veneto or Asiago.
ADVENTURE PARKS– If you want to swing from tree to tree like Tarzan and enjoy the woods from a different perspective, the Adventure Parks in Roana, Asiago and on Mount Grappa are the ideal places.
ART AND NATURE– If you love the combination of art and nature together, we recommend a walk among the contemporary artworks of the Parco del Sojo, the Silence Path and Arte Sella. Alternatively you can visit the historical monumental gardens of Valsanzibio, villa Contarini and villa Pisani.
PARAGLIDING AND BUNGEE-JUMPING– Mount Grappa is famous as being one of the best places in Italy for paragliding and hang gliding. To try the thrilling experience of bungee-jumping you can go to Enego, on the Asiago plateau. Both activities are not for the faint-hearted!
ROCK CLIMBING- Famous in all of Europe, the Lumignano rock walls on the Berici hills are a fantastic alternative to the closer rock walls of Mount Grappa.
WINTER SPORTS– The Asiago Plateau is the widest plateau in the Alps and it is definitely a paradise for cross country skiing. It is just a 40 minute drive from the hotel and is perfect also for snowshoe hiking, bobsleighing and ice skating.
SWIMMING POOL AND SPORTS FACILITIES– Within 500-800 metres from the hotel you can find a fitness centre, a cycling path, a large indoor swimming pool, two tennis courts, an athletic track and a skate park. Some kilometres further there is also a horse-riding school and an outdoor swimming pool with a children’s playground.
